Job Title:  Paraprofessional

Reports To:  Early Childhood SPED Coordinator   

Contract Length: 190 days or Hourly (depends on need)

 

SUMMARY: The Early Childhood Paraprofessional will provide support and work directly assisting identified students ages 3-5 to improve skills in specific areas related to the student’s individual needs as stated in the IEP.  This position is responsible for providing instructional and/or behavioral support to special education students in high needs programs under the direction of a licensed special education teacher.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee will be required to lift heavy educational supplies and/or files daily inside and outside of sites. The employee will be required to travel daily to multiple sites with different types of weather conditions unless a district is closed due to inclement weather. The employee will be required to stand, sit, bend, or stoop for extended periods of time due to sitting in a student chair or sitting on the floor to provide services. The employee will be required at times to work with students in indoor and outdoor settings that require physical activity to model gross motor activities to improve gross motor progress.
